SCHOOLS
Engaging children and young people in school-based activities plays a vital role in fostering an environmentally sustainable, thriving, and inclusive community.
Schools are encouraged to be engaged in the following:

Cleaner Greener Schools
The Cleaner Greener Schools program is designed to educate, inspire, and empower students and school communities to take action for a cleaner, greener Queensland. This syllabus outlines key focus areas, learning outcomes, and practical activities to encourage sustainable habits and environmental responsibility.
Adpot-A-Spot
Adopt-A-Spot is a community-driven initiative that encourages individuals, schools, businesses, and local groups to take responsibility for keeping a designated area clean and green. Whether it’s a park, beach, waterway, roadside, or school grounds, participants commit to regularly maintaining their chosen location by removing litter, promoting recycling, and enhancing the environment. This program fosters a sense of community pride, environmental stewardship, and long-term sustainability while contributing to a cleaner, healthier Queensland.
